Consuming Edibles

Edible cannabis interacts with everyone’s body a little differently. Edible (and liquid) cannabis must be digested to be absorbed into your system and feel the effects. Even for an experienced person with a high tolerance when smoking cannabis, it is always a good idea to start with a lower edible dose.

Best Practice for Consuming Edibles

  1. Be patient - the effects from cannabis edibles can take hours to activate, so consuming too much up front can put you in an uncomfortable situation when you feel it kick in (activate)

  2. Start with a low/small dose and wait 1-2 hours before consuming more

Good to Know

  • Edibles may activate sooner and have a stronger effect when consumed on an empty stomach

  • Liquids take less time for our bodies to digest, so you will typically feel the effects of cannabis drinks & tinctures much sooner than you would for solid edibles

  • CBD and fresh air can help if you end up uncomfortably high due to overconsumption
